Volunteer

Join us in making a positive impact in our community

Volunteering is the backbone of our ability to supply the services needed by Black and minority ethnic women in the community. All volunteers that work directly with service users are DBS checked and complete safeguarding training.

Hull Sisters works with the University of Hull and the University of Lincoln to provide placements for students in relevant subjects such as Psychology, Social Care, and Health Care. These volunteer placements provide students firsthand knowledge and experience while helping Hull Sisters deliver vital service and support.

Our volunteering opportunities are varied and include supporting clients in the activities and group sessions, helping with events, report and case study writing, assisting staff with day-to-day admin and management of the premises, and working to empower and support women and children to make positive choices.

For volunteers involved in day-to-day centre activities, we provide training, including abuse awareness, safeguarding, health and safety, first aid, and food hygiene.

We are always looking for volunteers, so please contact us if you can help.
